This is the 2023 Nissan X-Trail Vs new 2024 Nissan X-Trail comparison for 2023. We can’t believe it is 5 years since the last X-Trail Comparison against the all new X-Trail We where going to wait till the release of the arch rival all new CR-V for the start of the new X-Trail vs the world series but as always we like to see if older models are just as good as fresh new releases.
2023 Nissan X-Trail Vs 2024 Nissan X-Trail exterior: To be honest there was some resemblance between the last generation Qashqai and X-Trail. However their relationship was not as obvious as the newest models. In fact you don’t have to go far to find out that the Qashqai and X-Trail share the same platform although the X-Trail has been stretched. We think the boxier new X-Trail is more inspired by the original squared off version than the curvy last gen model compared here. Regardless both are generic in terms of design.
2023 Nissan X-Trail Vs 2024 Nissan X-Trail interior: We liked the old X-Trail interior as it looked and felt homely compared to what the other SUVs offered at the time. The new X-Trail is pretty good too in terms of look and feel but now it is generic. It has the ability to be optioned as a 7 seater, if you have smaller kids.
2023 Nissan X-Trail Vs 2024 Nissan X-Trail engine and technology: It’s an easy win for the new X-Trail as it now has a Hybrid engine option and more standard safety systems. Model grades determine what safety systems and stereo system you get but all are competitive.
The conclusion and winner to the new 2023 Nissan X-Trail Vs 2024 Nissan X-Trail is the new X-Trail. The win is of course conditional but our thoughts go along the line of : if the old model was upgraded would people still be interested = yes. Can the $5000-10000 price difference be justified if the old design was updated with all tech in the new model = no. However in the end it was clear that the exterior and interior design was quite dated so the new design (although generic) wins this comparison.
