The Great Wall Steed tries to be car like and is an OK place to be in but it is not as nice as the Tunland. Both are different designs which is great but neither is a unique place to be in or brand defining. The Tunland has the better presented interior.

The Tunland boast a Cummins diesel engine, Getrag 5 speed but nondescript 6 speed auto, a DANA axle with a diff lock and whether this means anything to you… In 2018 it needs well known commercial focused branded parts to appeal and more airbags. Also a word of warning the tech changes occur often so you need to be careful what spec you are looking at. The Great Wall Steed on the other hand has the latest tech including 4WD with locking diffs and a AWD mode for sealed roads the only short fall is the 5 speed manual.

The Foton is completely unknown brand at the moment but branded parts especially the known Cummins engine to truck drivers gives it a leg up on the Great Wall? Besides many people simply don’t want to be known has driving the cheapest ute in Australia parked in the front yard.

Simple reasons include it has an automatic for 2018 as an option and a nicer interior, however it comes auto comes at a price, approximately $5000 more for the equilivent model grade. However buyers for these two are price sensitive and the Steed’s manual has appeal to those in the country if that.
