Welcome to the all new Hyundai Kona Vs Toyota CH-R comparison for 2017. The CH-R was release just this year and is a bespoke design not related to any current model and it looks great. The Kona released just last month is a clearly a i30 with plastic bits but regardless it looks good. Both are targeted at the same mark with similar pricing but they vary greatly in specifications.
Hyundai Kona Vs Toyota CH-R exterior comparison: The Kona is a good looking SUV with 50/50 latest styling themes and traditional 1980’s style flared plastic wheel arches. However it is clear next to the CH-R the Kona is the cheaper design. The CH-R has a design that doesn’t look like anything else from Toyota or any other manufacturer it is a throughly modern SUV in looks. Furthermore the design is complete as opposed to the plastic formed Kona. The CH-R easily wins the looks department.
Hyundai Kona Vs Toyota CH-R interior comparison: The interior if the Kona is not an impressive place to be in and a contrast to the CH-R. The CH-R has looks and feels more upmarket than the Kona. That said the Kona is larger and a more usable back seat for most passengers. The CH-R has the small interior but it is bigger than the CX-3 for example but it is a nicer place to be in and easily wins the interior comparison.
Hyundai Kona Vs Toyota CH-R engines and and technology comparison: Keeping it simple, the CH-R has more safety tech as standard than the Kona. The CH-R has the flaw of having a small turbo engine that is not particularly powerful while the Kona has more powerful engines. Both entertainment systems sound OK but not upgradeable which will be an issue by the time it reaches the second hand market.
Hyundai Kona Vs Toyota CH-Rdrive comparison: N/A
The winner of the Hyundai Kona Vs Toyota CH-R comparison is the CH-R. In this price bracket any buyer would expect their SUVs interior that has decent materials to look at and be in especially in the CH-R . Sure more powerful engines are a bonus in the Kona but both cost are over $30000 on the road and for that sort of price in late 2017, the Kona is also missing auto brakes on the base model which means it will never win any comparison. The CH-R may be on the slow side but you’ll look and certainly feel better to be in than Kona especially stuck in traffic which is what there’s SUVs where designed for.
