Jeep Patriot Vs Honda CRV Comparison

Jeep Patriot
VS
Honda CRV

Welcome to the new 2013 Jeep Patriot Vs Honda CRV comparison. It’s been awhile since we’ve had a look at the Jeep Patriot, the little known SUV in most parts of the world against one of the most respected models, the Honda CRV.

For those new to Jeeps, they are essentially remakes of other brands of cars! They are a combinations of past and present manufacturers ranging from Mitsubishi, Mercedes Benz and now Fiat! Or course that does not mean that they are as reliable or have characteristics as the original donor models but at least the visual differentiation works to Jeep’s Advantage.

Jeep Patriot Vs Honda CRV exterior: The Jeep Patriot is the probably the most conventionally design out of all the smaller SUVs currently available. It’s box like exterior is conservative but has nice proportions after all it is essentially a couple of boxes… However despite being a box it has not aged well with the paint and panels not looking quite high quality as the newer models especially if you look close up. On the road or parked it is physically not impressive like the bigger Jeep Grand Cherokee and one of our favorites. The Honda looks modern yet conservative but overall good, using ever so slightly  the latest design trends and little touches that give it the quality look. The CRV wins this part of the comparisons unless you like really like the retro look.

Jeep Patriot Vs Honda CRV interior: The Patriot’s interior is quite plain and not particularly designed to accommodate real people or families which carry lots of people, mobile phones, tablets, children and pets. It looks rather conservative and a little cheap looking and feeling. Some interior upgrades over the years have helped but it does not take it to any where near the top of the class. The Honda CRV has one of the best interiors in the class. The quality is good and the standard features like magic seats and oddment storage make it very user friendly. It feels modern and homely especially in the hard to keep clean  cream interior color option. It is an easy win to the Honda for the interior comparison against the Patriot.

Jeep Patriot Vs Honda CRV engine and technology: The Honda CRV technology is state of the art but not leading edge. The Honda’s ECO function help economy but the age of the engine and transmissions which is carried over from the older model. The Jeep Patriot has state of the art engines too, based on Mitsubishi tech including a CVT which hides the less efficient engines. As always the Honda is also sportier to drive as per their main characteristics so more lively response and  revs means more fun. The Jeep Patriot is a conveyance with average mid-range power and it makes more noise than go.

The CRV wins – it is just easier to live with simply sitting in it, better quality, materials, looks and so forth. You will be more convinced when you drive it – overall it can described as nice one. The Jeep Patriot is a reasonable effort and much cheaper but there are very good reasons why. So go for what you can afford – it may also be more effective if you look at the slightly smaller SUVs like the Mitsubishi ASX/Citroen/Peugeot triples.
