Welcome to the all new MG ZS Vs Toyota CH-R comparison. We are pretty certain where the MG ZS sits in the small SUV class for 2019 likewise the Toyota CH-R. We haven’t reviewed the CH-R for a little while as it is typically contemporary Toyota.
MG ZS Vs Toyota CH-R exterior comparison: The MG ZS is a typical Chinese design, a mix of other manufacturers but at least it’s not completely ugly or challenging to look at but is it ultimately a copy. The Toyota C-HR is quite different from it’s competitors with a unique and very modern, sporty design, apart from the last generation Honda Civic rear end design. We like the looks as it appears more upmarket than any other small SUV currently on sale. It’s impressive what Toyota has done to the design compared to is historical mantra of bland looks.
MG ZS Vs Toyota CH-R interior comparison: The interior of the MF ZS is really good for the price. Sure it is a very ordinary design but the materials are better than some competitors. However it doesn’t reach the ambience the CH-R which is one of the best in the class. However the CH-R is not without flaws but a much better effort than the MG ZS. That said it is a recognisably Japanese design and a Toyota one at that.
MG ZS Vs Toyota CH-R engines and and technology comparison: The specification of the MG ZS is nothing special. Safety appears to be an afterthought and engines while up to date but low powered for the weight it has to carry. But it is competitive with the class average. In comparison to the CH-R has the same tech features, more safety, quality materials and design but exisiting engines from other Toyota models. That said the 1.2 turbo is the first time we’ve seen in a Toyota. Neither are particular fast and only the mid-range power of either engine will merely satisfy.
MG ZS Vs Toyota CH-R drive comparison: N/A
The winner of the MG ZS Vs Toyota CH-R is the CH-R. However the main question between choosing between the two is cost, brand and design. The CH-R is expensive on paper but it compares well to all the other small SUVs like the HRV, CX-3 and even the Qashqai. Does the cheap MG ZS equate to an entry level CH-R? No, Toyota has the better package. You would only buy the MG ZS based on price when on special and don’t care about brand, reliability and street cred. Leather seats in the MG ZS does not equate to a top of the range car these days only wool does that in 2019. Logically you would consider the MG ZS if you were looking at buying an older 2nd hand or Used small SUV.
