Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series Vs Toyota Prado Comparison

300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser

VS

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

Welcome to the 300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado comparison 2021. In many parts of the world the Prado is the Land Cruiser of repute – mainly Europe and South East Asia. The 300 series is the Land Cruiser which the rest of the world knows as the off road legend. These two are logical competitors based on price as in most other aspects the Prado is literally a model generation behind and a size smaller.

300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado exterior: it a personal preference which looks better, that said both are conservative designs. We think the Prado looks it’s age and the overly detailed styling in the front works but not the rear end. The 300 series doesn’t attempt to stand out and as we’ve seen with most large SUVs there’s not much you can do to a box that also needs to carry things that hasn’t already been done.

300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado interior: You have to remember the context that these are not luxury SUVs except for the price tag. The models grades range from relatively basic equipment levels to full featured and the top range models that have everything you’d expect. As a result the model range covers commercial buyers to others wanting luxury style ambience and lots of space. While the new interiors are very good by any standard – the issue we have is that the interiors don’t look luxury enough especially the Prado. Admittedly for real luxury ambience you have to buy the Lexus versions. The Prado interior – in particular is overall a bit of a let down as it’s design is clearly commercial in look with a parts bin approach…

300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado engines and technology: Both models have plenty of safety and traction systems and hardware. Arguably you won’t find another brand that has the same reputation. Sure other brands may match or outperform them, the truth is that none of them will last the distance. The new turbo diesel 300 series engine is a powerful and completely new with great performance for large SUV.  In comparison to the Prado which has updated version shared with the Hilux which are adequate in the historical Toyota fashion.

300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado drive : N/A

The conclusion to the 300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is neither.  Both are very good choices if you need a large and durable SUV. They are great off road in standard trim and can go on for decades if you wish. If we where to choose it would be neither at this time. We’d wait for the next Gen Prado due in the next few years as the 300 Series is little too expensive for us and it would not be used to it’s design brief. However for it’s target market for the 300 series there is very little choice.
