Welcome to the Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Toyota CH-R showroom and review spec comparison for 2021. Similar in size but not design, Toyota is seemingly same under the skin but two different body small SUVs. However this is Toyota not VW, Audi or Skoda who make the same car with the same features with minimal body design changes and turbo tuning rip off. That’s the main reasons why we have very little respect for the manufacturer and the 3 brands. However I digress and back to the Yaris Cross Vs CH-R comparison… The Yaris Cross appears more down market compared to the CH-R yet their prices match … so is the new Yaris Cross worth buying over the older CH-R?
Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Toyota CH-R exterior: The CH-R many be a few years old but it still looks good. Cheaper model grades look little ordinary but in the right model grade and colour it looks more expensive than even more expensive branded competition. The Yaris Cross on the hand will always be viewed as the less attractive sibling. It’s not unattractive just a stereo-typical Toyota design.
Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Toyota CH-R interior: No question the interior of the CH-R is the nicer place to be in. The materials are higher quality and it looks dare we say it stylish. However there are packaging issues like the dark rear seating but cabin lighting helps left the ambience when turned on. The Yaris Cross interior is OK but it is all hard plastic that mostly look and feel hard which is the main issue regardless of model grade. It gives the impression of durability but this a passenger SUV not a commercial.
Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Toyota CH-R engine and technology: Both have leading Hybrid engines and safety technology. It is the CH-R that has the more powerful engines but it s also heavier which balance out any perceived performance gain. The base engine of the CH-R is a 1.2 turbo with a better performing and more efficient Hybrid as an option. The Yaris Cross has a non-turbo base engine and Hybrid option from the Yaris so decent power on their own but just adequate with the heavier body. Both also have AWD dependent on model grade.
Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Toyota CH-R road test: N/A
The winner of the Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Toyota CH-R comparison is a draw. Since both are in the same price range and safety packages dependent on model grade it depends on what you prefer in terms of looks, both inside and outside. These are not cheap small SUVs.
