One of the reasons Toyota redesigned the Hiace is represented by the Hyundai iLoad. Note the iload is also known as the Hyundai h-1 or Hyundai Grand Starex. The iLoad was originally released in 2007 and was essentially the only real competitor to the prior Hiace. It was a popular choice for contractors slowly eating away in Hiace sales. In order to compete and reasons like the new Hiace can now be sold to many more countries. Both come in passenger friendly variants as well.

Toyota Hiace Vs Hyundai iLoad exterior comparison: We like the Hiace design as it as close to box bar the required angled front end that we don’t think will age quickly. The box like rear cargo area is far more suited to Vanlife too. The iLoad is clearly an older design even with the updated front end with smaller headlights. It’s a good looking mini-van just an older and smaller design.

Toyota Hiace Vs Hyundai iLoad interior comparison: The Hiace interior is spartan but thanks to the two tone plastic lifts the appearance of it’s commercial focused hard plastics. There is plenty of space yet we expected more ‘shelving’ and compartments to store commercial type accessories. Unfortunately neither vans have them. The iLoad interior is nice but the untextured plastics date the look and feel. Likewise the plus 10 years old, traditional US focused, mini-van curved T-bar design. Both Hiace and iLoad really need more cup holders, slots for tracking scanners or clipboard compartments, mobile phone holders, toll way tags and misc compartments for a true mobile office and #vanlife.

The conclusion and winner of the Toyota Hiace Vs Hyundai iLoad comparison is the new Hiace. Based purely on price vs spec the Hiace is the better buy. Ignoring size, the Hyundai iLoad is missing the safety systems and space compared to the Hiace.

<td style="text-align: left;
