It is another new model vs old model comparison. The over 5 years old Mazda CX-3 is one of our favourite small SUVs due to pricing but not packaging but nonetheless we still think it is competitive against much newer models. Any new Toyota model is going to be decent effort and arguably competitive with any competitor via packaging that usually sets a benchmark and will outlive or outlast any them. So is the all new Toyota Yaris Cross worth buying over the aged Mazda CX-3?<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Mazda CX-3 exterior: The Yaris Cross body work is a contemporary design but not interesting to look at. That said in the right spec and colour scheme is pretty decent at although base models look very basic. It also does not look like other Toyota SUVs like the RAV4, Prado Kluger or LandCruiser. Perhaps this is the new design language for future Toyota&#8217;s that we are seeing? The CX-3 is a good looking small SUV that is a simply better looking design and the higher the model grade you choose gets subtly better. It may be old but the design has stood the test of time.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Mazda CX-3 interior: The biggest surprise and disappointment with the Yaris Cross is the interior. Yes there is plenty of space, light and all that but equipped with hard plastics that look and feel hard along with conservative design it is not appealing &#8211; regardless of model grade. The CX-3 interior may be older and it looks and feels nicer all round, although the mix of hard plastics don&#8217;t look it or feel it. Even after 6 years we think the CX-3 interior is \u00a0still hard beat in the class.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Mazda CX-3 engine and technology: The Yaris Cross has class leading engines and safety tech as standard in 2021 and none of the competition comes close. The Mazda CX-3 has class leading engines up to the release of the Yaris Cross &#8211; enough said.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Mazda CX-3 road test: N\/A<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the Toyota Yaris Cross Vs Mazda CX-3 comparison is a tie. The reason is simple the CX-3 is better for a base model to mid range in terms of price for spec.
