This is Kia Stonic Vs Mazda CX-3 comparison for 2021. Using the same design concept both are small ‘SUV’ based on hatchbacks and they are all in the same size class. While the Stonic is a new model the CX-3 has been around for years and it was arguably the cheapest small SUV on sale far a little while. Is the Stonic better than the CX-3?<\/p>\n

Kia Stonic Vs Mazda CX-3 exterior comparison: No matter how you look at it the Sonic is clearly a high rise version of the Kia Rio with the obligatory plastic cladding. It’s not bad to look at just a little old and derivative 2021. The Mazda CX-3 is similar to the Mazda2 it is based on and design hasn’t changed much since release and it still looks like a relatively newish design that still looks more expensive than it is – even ignoring model grade garnishes.<\/p>\n

Kia Stonic Vs Mazda CX-3 interior comparison: The Stonic is a decent place to be in but it does constantly remind you that it is base model – regardless of model grade. In comparison the CX-3 has a great interior, it looks and feels like a more expensive car than you expect. Hard plastics are hidden in plain sight really well. Adding the interior option packs or buying a higher model grade gives a noticeable improvement in look and feel. However the CX-3 interior is a little tight.<\/p>\n

The omission of the diesel engine in 2021 makes the pricing initial appear odd… The Stonic has a few short falls in comparison with the cheaper interior, exterior design, engines and transmissions. That said it should be enough to last for the 7 year warranty but will the tranny give up before then? The conclusion and winner of the Kia Stonic Vs Mazda CX-3 comparison is the CX-3. The CX-3 may be the older model in the comparison but it doesn’t look it inside or on the road. In comparison only the top range Stonic has any chance of impressing but it is overpriced compared to the CX-3. Although the CX-3 has a wider gap that gap includes notable features like AWD, adaptive cruise control, full glass roof, Nappa and electric seats. These features are not exactly essential but at least they are more than just a bunch of plastic adds on on the Stonic. Yes, we all agree that the Stonic has an odd set of specs and unjustified high pricing for this market.<\/p>\n
