We separated the MG ZS model grade to the MG ZST model because that’s how their marketing has done it. However to be completely transparent the ZS and ZST models are the same model. The Kia Stonic is in the same price and size hence worth a comparison.

Kia Stonic Vs MG ZST exterior comparison: The MG ZST only differs to the standard ZS by a slightly different and arguably on trend front end design, nicer and more appropriately size wheels and tyres. It’s not bad looking car it’s just too similar in design to any number of other brands. The Kia Stonic is ultimately no different to the MG is that is is very similar to the A-Class in profile but Renault in details.

Kia Stonic Vs MG ZS interior comparison: The Stonic has decent interior design to look at but the materials are on the cheap side. The MG ZST has a old school T bar design but at least the materials are up to the asking price but nothing more. The often featured digital dash on the ZST is only available on the top of the range model.

Kia Stonic Vs MG ZST engine and technology comparison: The Stonic has the basics in terms of engines and safety systems. It is what you’d expect for a small SUV priced under $30,000 but the Stonic is not – there are currently no drive away deals so makes it more expensive than the MG ZST at any model grade. In comparison the MG ZST has many more tech and safety systems but you only get the lot with the top grade model – which currently works out cheaper than the equivalent Kia Stonic. The more powerful engines on the top range ZST give it more acceptable performance than the sluggish entry level ZST which it charges with the normal ZS model grades. You’d assume that ZST means it’s got a turbo on the range but it doesn’t. It’s more marketing rubbish which they should really stop.

Kia Stonic Vs MG ZST drive report : N/A

The conclusion and winner of the Kia Stonic Vs MG ZST comparison is the ZST. It’s once again smoke and mirrors marketing from MG and one you should be aware of. Only the model grade on the top range ZST has the turbo engine and digital instrument and sun roof along with a turbo but only marginal power increase. However since the ZST drive away price is cheaper with more safety equipment than the Stonic at the time of this post it is a bargain compared to the Kia Stonic and that’s why it wins this comparison.

Kia Stonic

MG ZST

Engines

3 Cylinder –
