The new Tucson’s arch rival in the class is the relatively aged Honda CR-V. Of course a 3 year release gap doesn’t mean too much in 2021 and the CR-V is still a competitor and definitely a worthy comparison if shopping for an SUV in this class.

Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CR-V exterior: As we’ve said before the Tucson is a challenging design to look at. It is modern in styling but it’s not immediately likeable to most of us. In comparison the CR-V is a relatively conservative design in 2021 although it was leading edge when released. It has aged well and we still like the look – but in the lighter colours aka not black.

Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CR-V interior: The Tucson is not a cohesive place to be in although all the modern appointments are there to be seen. We like the button design and the digital dash on the top spec model. However overall, it looks and feels less than thought out. In comparison the CR-V is a very nice place to be in. It may not have the latest materials or design but it looks and feels good to be in. The flexible interior is a standout likewise the 7 seat version for even more interior space.

Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CR-V engines and technology: The Tucson has great standard safety systems but let down by carry over engines. That said the engine power is decent. We also stand corrected – the Tucson does offer a diesel engine option. In comparison the CR-V has a equally decent power output but under par safety systems as standard. However there is a safety package you can add.

Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CR-V drive : N/A

The conclusion to the Hyundai Tucson vs Honda CR-V is the Honda CR-V. The CR-V is the better package because it feels nicer to be in and cheaper. The Tucson haas lots of features but it just doesn’t have that IT factor we expected in a new design that sets it apart from all the other competitors apart form the exterior design.

Hyundai Tucson

Honda CR-V

Engines

4 Cylinder Petrol
2 Litre (1999cc)
DOHC EFI VVT
Claimed 115Kw @ 6200RPM
Claimed 192Nm @ 4000RPM

IL4 Cylinder –
