This is a first all electric SUV comparison we&#8217;ve done in the sense that the platform these SUVs are built on where designed to accommodate an electric driven train for a fully electric vehicle. So how do they compare since we&#8217;ve only driven a Tesla Model X and not the EQA at the time of this post?<\/p>\n<p>Tesla Model X Vs Mercedes EQA exterior comparison: The exterior design of both models are a little underwhelming especially the Mercedes EQA. The EQA looks just like any number of generic designs from any other brand. Clearly the design choice was made on purpose so it can be easily categorised a just another smallish or compact sized SUV. You could mistake it for a petrol power model which does help it&#8217;s brand image. We also did not think it looks like a premium model. The EQA has few trim packages which mainly relates to AMG branded addons.\u00a0 In comparison the Tesla Model X is arguably the first SUV from the company although it is a stretch to categorise it as an SUV. It&#8217;s does look quite dated but the saving feature is the motorised rear gull wing doors. This iteration of the Model X also sees the removal of any Mercedes Benz switch gear which was quite obvious on the original release.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla Model X Vs Mercedes EQA interior comparison: The Tesla Model X interior update for 2022 is a perfect example of minimalist design seen in high art pictures and films. It looks modern but a little plain due to being nothing to see. There is lots of space as it is basically a mini van interior layout and it does look stereotypically movie like. There are clear fit issues for the price you have to pay but that hasn&#8217;t stopped people buying them. In comparison the Mercedes EQA interior design is based on the A-Class which is not a bad thing. There are plenty of interior trim options and colours and it all looks and feels just like A Mercedes at this price should be 2022 standards. The normal layout though means it is not as spacious as the Model X and more like a hatchback.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla Model X Vs Mercedes EQA engine and technology comparison: As electric cars the Model X has the brand halo to work with and it that regard it succeeds. There are plenty of customisation and gadgets that can be meddled with via the centre panel. The key selling point of the Tesla which is the auto pilot system is still an option which is disappointing for the price. The motor and batteries are arguably state of the art and so is the 3 motor drive system. In comparison the EQA is the entry level electric SUV for Mercedes and the number of options and customisations are not at the same level in the technical sense. Arguably you don&#8217;t need them as all the safety systems and equipment but they are all standard which is surprising. The motor and batteries are decent too with plenty of power and range.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla Model X Vs Mercedes EQA drive report and Street Cred: To be honest the Tesla Model X is lifeless to drive but that is the point. Sure the turn of speed is impressive but that is all. We haven&#8217;t driven an EQA yet. In terms of street cred that Models X is easily the better one in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion and winner of the Tesla Model X Vs Mercedes EQA comparison is the EQA.\u00a0 The Tesla is expensive for what you get beyond the brand or flashy gull wing doors. Even if the auto pilot system was standard 162K is a lot of money for an SUV that really should be called a mini van. Sure the Model X is fast but so is the EQA for it&#8217;s price and indeed all electric cars.
