The Honda HR-V released last year is the new small SUV which isn&#8217;t all that small and arguably the size of the original CR-V over 20 years ago! That said it is also very expensive and competes with the Corolla Cross not in size but in terms of pricing. So how do they compare?<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Corolla Cross vs Honda HR-V exterior design: As we&#8217;ve said before that despite the Corolla Cross was released last year it doesn&#8217;t look like a new design. You could argue that it is based on the regular Corolla of 2022 but we don&#8217;t think the link is that definitive. In comparison the Honda HR-V despite being released late last year and at least 12 months after the Corolla Cross surfaced in other countries it too is looking like a dated design aka conservative. The HR-V does look like a high rise last Gen Mitsubishi Lancer don&#8217;t you think?<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Corolla Cross vs Honda HR-V interior: The Corolla Cross interior is essentially the same as the normal Corolla just a little more height and space. It is nice enough to be in but it is looking dated. In comparison the Honda HR-V interior design is nicer and the quality is just as good. We prefer to be in the HR-V. That said despite the HR-V being a little be smaller it doesn&#8217;t really feel it on the inside as well which helps.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota Corolla Cross vs Honda HR-V engines and technology: Despite their exterior and interior design both are very much equals in terms of specification except one very important feature. The petrol engine option in the HRV is old and underpowered in comparison to the Corolla Cross which the decent 2 litre from the Corolla. The Hybrid engine options on both are the best choices for performance and fuel economy.<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion and winner of the Toyota Corolla Cross vs Honda HR-V comparison is a draw. The draw is conditional because the top range Corolla Cross is more expensive than the top range HR-V. The HR-V range only has two models and the Hybrid model is really the only one worth buying. Since \u00a0there is no negotiation on price it is also the drive away price, however there are accessories you need to buy as well&#8230;. Initially we considered that the HR-V being overpriced but only if you compare it to it&#8217;s logical competitor &#8211; the Yaris Cross.
