How times have changed in a short period of time. The Qashqai was the cheaper and smaller SUV the the CRV. Now it competes with the CR-V in pricing and almost in size as well. It is important to note that an all new CR-V has been released but not available world wide yet. So how does the new Qashqai compare to the out going Honda CR-V?

Nissan Qashqai Vs Honda CR-V exterior comparison: As a completely new model the Qashqai looks good at most angles and very 2023. However it is ultimately conservative in design as all the new models look like it. The CR-V is an older design but it still looks good and dare we say more upmarket in appearance. It’s probably because the front and rear ends look like full though out designs.

Nissan Qashqai Vs Honda CR-V interior comparison: The Qashqai interior is nice and modern place to be in but it is not particularly unique. The CRV interior is it a little dated but its still modern ambience and identifiable as a CR-V. The CRV is also bigger and more flexible and can understand why it is a popular choice. We can’t really add much more – they are nice interiors.

Nissan Qashqai Vs Honda CR-V engine and technology comparison: At the time of this review neither have hybrid engine options and are running the usual small capacity turbo charged engines. However only the Qashqai could be considered underpowered due to the CVT and weight increase. The CRV is faster and it seems to have more zip when driving. It is also important to note that it doesn’t offer the drive experience of the 1st or 2nd Gen CR-V. The CR-V is clearly positioned against the RAV4 but not as boring to drive.

The conclusion and winner of the Nissan Qashqai Vs Honda CR-V comparison is the CR-V. The CR-V feels even bigger than it’s measurements suggest, for some reason and it also feels like a more solid SUV to own over time. The is only one thing to commend the new Qashqai and the only thing we can mention are the larger dual tablet screens, unfortunately that is countered by the lack of a decent speaker system that only the top model grade gets. When we considered the best Qashqai model grade vs the mid range CRV due to pricing, they are pretty much equal but with the CRV having low speed cruise control that out points the Nissan.

Nissan Qashqai

Honda CR-V

Engines

4 Cylinder Petrol (95 Octane)
DOHC EFI VVT Turbo
1.3 Litre (1332cc)
Claimed 110Kw @ 5500RPM
Claimed 250Nm @ 1600RPM

IL4 Cylinder –
