Justification is due to overlapping pricing, specification and size. So how does the all new Qashqai compare to the older VW Tiguan?

Nissan Qashqai Vs Volkswagen Tiguan exterior comparison: The Qashqai looks and is a generation ahead of the Tiguan in the looks department. It literally has all the latest styling trends in one body. The Qashqai has the latest Nissan styling theme, floating roof, aggressive front end with split lights, plain and anonymous rear end, sharper side angles and so forth. In comparison the VW Tiguan follows the VW styling language, it is deliberately conservative and looks 10 years older next to the Qashqai. That said the Tiguan is a perfect design for anyone who wants to be anonymous. However the real reason is that it is the basis for VW’s other brands where looks are more important.

Nissan Qashqai Vs Volkswagen Tiguan interior comparison: As we’ve said before the Qashqai interior is like the exterior by using all the latest styling trends. It is nice enough for the price tag. In comparison the Tiguan has an aged interior from the Golf about 10 years ago. It is nice enough but simply not good enough for the price tag.

Nissan Qashqai Vs Volkswagen Tiguan engine and technology comparison: Both have modern small capacity petrol turbo charges engines and industry standard safety systems. The digital dash on the Qashqai is a great addition that is still optional on the Tiguan. The stereo system is OK on the Qashqai with a Bose on the top range. All systems sounds good which is a contrast to the thinner Tiguan system when not optioned. Likewise the existence of an option lists on the VW is not a good fit for this market where we expect high levels of stuff out of the box due to high prices. More complaints against the Tiguan include the rip off turbo charging tuning trick and rough DSG gearbox. They didn’t get away with the fake diesel emissions and fuel consumption and they should not get away with the turbo tuning rip off either.

Nissan Qashqai Vs Volkswagen Tiguan street cred: VWs used to have a more upmarket cred but they have fallen down the ladder and the Tiguan is a perfect example of the malaise effecting the brand. That said it has never had a decent rating. The Qashqai was a good looking value for money package until now. With Nissan’s corporate in fighting in the news and a tie up with Mitsubishi and Renault doesn’t help its brand image either. Both need a really good SUV to stand out.

The conclusion and winner of the Nissan Qashqai Vs Volkswagen Tiguan comparison is neither. This is relative as both are expensive compared to 3 years ago and in the case of the Tiguan nothing has changed so will never win a comparison. The Qashqai is all new but hampered but the legacy of the CVT gearbox issues, the new but anonymous styling, class average engine, tech package and the almost unreasonable price tag.

<table style="width: 96.7777%;
