This is Tesla Model Y Vs Tesla Model 3 comparison for 2024. Electric and\/or Battery powered cars are the future and we’ve gotten on board. We are focusing on electric and battery powered vehicles for the next few weeks. With that introduction, the Tesla Model Y is the best selling electric SUV on sale if you class it as an SUV – which we aren’t quite sure of.\u00a0 In comparison, the Tesla Model 3 is the best selling electric car in the world. Since the Model Y is a variant of the Model 3 we decided to compare if the Model Y is worth the difference over the original.<\/p>\n

Tesla Model Y Vs Tesla Model 3 exterior comparison: The Model Y is clearly based on the Model 3 and it is a design that is optimised to continue the brand’s design language rather then out right good looks. In the end it does look bloated. In comparison the Model 3 is sleek and sporty stance whereas the Model Y is ungainly. Both are not small cars and have plenty of interior space for a 5 person family or group. The Model Y may look similar to the original Model X but it quite different.<\/p>\n

Tesla Model Y Vs Tesla Model 3 interior comparison: Both interior designs are the same although the Y has more vertical space. The design is minimalistic as you can get in 2024 virtually all the controls on the large touch screen. You get used to the lack of buttons. In terms of the quality of materials both are very good but due to that tight panel finish we are used to in other cars the large gaps in the Tesla’s don’t suit the asking price. That said both are nice places to be in, relatively quiet but some road noise more than anything else due to the lack of an engine. Note that the Model Y interior layout is not as good as the Model X.<\/p>\n

Tesla electric motors are the most efficient and reliable the sensors and cameras and software are the most advanced in the class. Both models share the same tech package and the Model 3 is the faster one due to less weight. The fastest models are those optioned with the\u00a0 bigger batteries but also with 2 motors. There are also a number of features that no one else has or has matched and the includes autonomous driving.<\/p>\n

As an SUV the Model Y is lift-back rather than wagon hence there are better SUVs out there in terms of packaging. In comparison the Model 3 is regular sedan but is nicer to look at, cheaper and faster. That said while both are expensive, the price difference between the two models can be quite small dependent on which state you live in and which model you are willing to pay for. Final note: you can charge the Model Y or Model 3 at home by a normal wall power point or socket but you have to buy the optional Travel Charger!<\/p>\n
