Like most of the ute class in 2024 the BT-50 is a shared model with another brand aka Isuzu. However it is better than that model that it is based on hence our choice for this comparison. The Haval Cannon Ute is a new model to the market and essentially a model based on the class leaders and bits of other models. So how do the Cannon Ute and the BT-50 compare, which one is the better one to buy?

GWM Haval Cannon Ute Vs Mazda BT-50 exterior comparison: The BT-50 makes the most of the shared design by looking like a Mazda at the front end and to the rear. It’s not exactly the Kodo design language but it is close enough for a commercial ute. The Cannon Ute may be physically bigger but the look is bloated rather than streamline and certainly derivative than making a styling statement. The Mazda design looks more contemporary and has nicer proportions.

GWM Haval Cannon Ute Vs Mazda BT-50 interior comparison: The BT-50 interior is pretty good, it looks and feels like a regular car made from the 2000’s. It’s a traditional commercial ute interior that gets better the more you pay but stays true to its commercial base if you know what we mean. In comparison the latest Cannon Ute is designed to look like a SUV rather the commercial. It is nice interior that looks completely modern, good to be in and feel for a commercial vehicle.

GWM Haval Cannon Ute Vs Mazda BT-50 engine and technology comparison: We feel like it is ground hog day when trying to find something we can highlight on the spec sheet for this class of vehicle. So yes there is nothing truly interesting tech to point out about either ute. Mind you the lower powered Cannon Ute is a little under whelming that ordinary.

The winner of the GWM Haval Cannon Ute Vs Mazda BT-50 comparison is neither. The BT-50 is very expensive in comparison to the cheap Cannon Ute. Can’t blame anyone giving the Cannon Ute a go based on that. However the other less factored in is image – what vehicle and the condition off – when it turns up at your business gives you an idea on how the contractor/owner driving it thinks. That said it is financially tough out there at the moment.

<td style="text-align: left;
