The Hyundai Tucson package in this model generation is a little off as far as we are concerned as we prefer the under body twin the Kia Sportage. So how does it compare the new but currently flawed CR-V?

Honda CR-V Vs Hyundai Tucson exterior comparison: The biggest flaw in the current CR-V is it’s styling. It is quite generic or anonymous that on one would pick it up as a new model. Clearly this was on purpose but possibly a mistake when the sales figures are revealed? The Tucson is arguably the opposite with odd angles and everywhere you look. It sort of works but to most doesn’t. It is hard to not pick out the Tucson in a car park.

Honda CR-V Vs Hyundai Tucson interior comparison: The Tucson interior is a nice place to be in however it’s design is not as good as it should be and likewise quality of materials. The tech inspired and visible top half is really good but the bottom half like the carpets could have been better overall. The new CR-V interior is arguably a little better due to the more minimalist layout and we think the more upmarket ambience.

Honda CR-V Vs Hyundai Tucson engine and technology comparison: This Tucson has just received an hybrid engine option but its too late to be included as part of this review. Whereas the CR-V already has the option and it is a pretty decent one albeit nothing revolutionary about it. All other tech is dependent on model grade you buy and neither has any real feature worth highlighting.

The conclusion and winner of the new Honda CR-V Vs Hyundai Tucson comparison is a draw. The CR-V has more consistent inclusion of better materials on the inside despite looking dated on the outside. The Tucson is an assortment of designs and the late arrival of the hybrid engine speaks of how Hyundai is a follower or perhaps a branch rather than class leader. It’s not futuristic or even retro futuristic but an alternate time line…. As a result they are equal in our eyes and probably most who are shopping for an SUV in this class. Both are expensive even by 2024 standards.

Honda CR-V (2025)

<td style="text-align: left;
