This company has come along way from bargain basement producer of hand me down Mitsubishi based cars and SUVs to using technology and designs of their own. Sure we don&#8217;t think they have all the technology to rival the premium brands yet but using what they have which is a fantastic effort. There are also two versions of the new Santa Fe a 5 or 7 seater hence its inclusion on our medium SUV list.<\/p>\n<p>The 2012 Santa Fe always been low on our radar due to its lack of proven off-road and long term durability. It doesn&#8217;t help that we always felt that the asking price was too high for what does look like a &#8216;cheaper&#8217; car exactly like the current BMW X series. There is nothing notably wrong or special with the 2012 Santa Fe it just some how didn&#8217;t figure highly when car shopping for what ever reason.<\/p>\n<p>The new 2013 Santa has addressed the design issues and it looks pretty good although not exactly unique in appearance. (We think that Hyundai is copying too much of its subsidiary Kia in terms of looks.) The interior design has leaped forward and we like the updated high tech appearance. We definitely think its over priced considering the choice of a only a reasonable powered petrol and diesel engines.
