Incidentally both have twins! Namely the Australian designed Ford Ranger and the related Mazda BT-56, the Holden Colorado is a twin of the Isuzu D-Max.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve already seen all models in the showroom and motor shows but have yet to decide which one is the favorite for the business. The Ford Ranger and the Holden Colorado will inevitability part of the eternal brand rivalry. (For visitors from overseas its GM Vs Ford) Initial impressions are that both feel as good as each other and the differences if you ignore the brands are purely in design or presentation.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of technical comparisons I&#8217;d ignore the manual Colorado since it only has a 5 speed gear box. For a completely new model regardless of whether it needs it or not the lack of a 6 speed gearbox is a design oversight and should NOT be rewarded with your hard earned dollars. This also makes us wonder whether other design short cuts have been taken. Considering it was designed by both Isuzu and GM makes this even more puzzling.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage we prefer the design of the Ford Ranger despite retro inspired looks. \u00a0The interior seems to look and feel better which is where you&#8217;ll be spending more of you time. We expect that the top range \u00a0Widetrack version which will improve even more?<\/p>\n<p>Below are the Ranger and Colorado key specifications for comparisons.
