We’ve updated the review due to age of the original 150 series vs Pajero review.

The 150 series Landcruiser Prado has not changed since introduction and neither has the Mitsubishi Pajero. Unfortunately for the Pajero it has been since 2006 without any significant updates expect in the engine department but at least the exterior it has really dated or the interior to an certain extent. It is only when you start using and feeling it does it’s age. The doors and some controls feel thin in comparison to any newer model. However to counter all that it is priced lower than the equivalent Prado without sacrificing equipment.

The Pajero is honestly almost as good as the Prado most respects. For example it is reasonably quiet on the road, it is quite fast, uses about the same petrol, handles well for this type of SUV and so forth. It just isn’t quite up to the Toyota’s overall standard.

So to summarise, if you can get a good price on one go for the Pajero since it comes packed with additional bits that the Prado doesn’t have. Then again you won’t miss them either. It’s just not quite as good a Prado overall which is why we haven’t got one anymore and the Prado is still with us. However it is still one of the best off road capable SUVs.

150 series LandCruiser Prado

Mitsubishi Pajero

Engines

1GR-FE –
