These are 5 door comparisons. The model code is KDJ150R. We have posted long term and short terms reviews and a more detailed comparison including the drive report between the old and new models on other pages so just click on the various links to read what we think about them.

The 150 series replaced the existing one in November 2009 and since it is a global model, by April 2010. There are 5 door and 3 door versions that are released in selected countries. There are a lot of similarities between the old and new models. Specification comparison below.

Please see the in-depth drive and ownership reports linked from the main menu of the website! However since your on this page, ss a quick summary we like both models. The 150 series Prado is better than the 120 series but it is not complete win. The interior of the 150 series can only described as a good place to be. It is missing the more upmarket ambiance the older 120 series. Essentially the materials used in the new model is simply not as good as expected for the price you are paying – which are incidentally more than the comparable 120 series.

If you’re not fussed about the interior, the 150 series does have improved off and on road technology and improved refinement and quietness to keep you happy. Unfortunately the diesel version has not improved as much as the petrol version. Overall it wasn’t enough to convince use it was worth the upgrade just yet. Hence if you haven’t got the 120 series already then the new one is one of the best you can get – let’s face it the competition is now too dated to compare to the new 150 series unless you’re after cheaper a SUV or perhaps try the ‘prestige’ brands.

120 series LandCruiser Prado

150 series LandCruiser Prado (LC5)

Engines

1GR-FE –
