The XV was released around 6 months ago. The XV and the Dualis are essentially raised versions of regular sedan and hatch cars.

The Dualis has been growing on us mainly due to this price and overall package. It may not be technically the best small SUV overall but it is the package that counts for daily use and the majority of buyers. The cheapest base model Dualis is thousands less than the comparable XV albeit 2WD version while the top range 4WD Dualis Ti-L is even cheaper and has more useful additions than the top range XV. Essentially the Dualis is the cheaper car in price only but certainy not equipment!

Dualis Vs XV interior: The XV looks better on the inside until to try the doors. The Dualis doesn’t show its age just a completely different style and more youthful design. The XV interior was designed to be more up market and it does work but not a much as you’d want it to. Overall the XV wins but at a price of course!

Dualis Vs XV exterior: The Dualis looks good and the XV looks good too but for a Subaru. The rear end of the Dualis is odd while the XV is OK but could be more proportionate. The top range Dualis deos look like the top range model whilst the XV looks the same regardless – which is more bad than good. We think both are equal in terms of looks.

Dualis Vs XV engines and technology: The XV may have the latest fuel saving technology but it doesn’t beat the Dualis due to overall cost. The XV has expensive services that you need to do. The XV may have a new 2.0 engine but the Dualis engine is just as good. Both are on the slower side in terms of performance due to the weigh ratio. CVT autos in both would be annoying in the city traffic though.

In the end the Nisaan Dualis is great value for money and when running costs taken into account the financial choice. The Subaru XV is a great small SUV too but simply too expensive. That said if you really want an XV the mid range models are the only worthy options.

Subaru XV

Nissan Dualis

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignleft" style="border-style: initial;
