These two are the oldest commercial utes out of the current batch of LCVs on sale in 2013 and they do show their age in some aspects just like the 2013 Toyota Hilux.

Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara exterior: The exterior design for both have held their age very well. The Triton look is unmistakable, a much better design than the seemingly afterthought new BT-50 for example and the Navara is nice looking. Both are different but equal in terms of their exterior design appeal.

Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara interior: The relatively boring design of the Navara is better due to the impression of better quality materials. The Triton is OK but belongs to a different time, although a change of materials would do wonders of the ambience – at present it looks feels a little cheap and tacky. This is a win to the Navara.

Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara technology: The once state of the art Mitsubishi engine is now main stream technology, likewise the suspension or driving aids. It needs a unique feature other than exterior design. The D40 Navara has the head lining and expensive 170Kw 550Nm engine which is highly impressive but not much else. Both are pretty much equal in our eyes despite Nissan’s high performance diesel.

Mitsubishi Triton Vs Nissan Navara the drive: These are not sports cars but are primarily light commercial vehicles. It that context they handle well. The Triton rides and handles like they did in the 1990’s.. It’s a firm ride that feels sporty up to about 40kph. The Navara is soft by comparison. Both are not luxury cars either and not the most relaxing cars to drive but at least the lack of steering feel gives the initial impression of refinement but not so good at faster speeds when compared to a decent car but your average sedan like a Camry its not too bad at all.

We think that the Navara is ahead of the Triton in terms of overall packaging and would choose it ahead of the Triton especially during the various special deals. However the Triton’s unique styling is appealing in its own right and the ability to customise the interior to your liking is another good point.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
