At the time this was written both are brand new ‘2014’models for 2013. Both actually look quite similar and are based on their hatch or sedan counters the Focus and the Corolla.

Ford Kuga Vs Toyota RAV4 exterior: Once again we like the design of both ‘small’ SUVs. Despite being contemporary and designed to only raise a eye brow slightly. They are based on regular sedans the Ford Focus and the Toyota Corolla however it is the Ford that takes a slightly bolder styling than the RAV4 which looks conservative especially when you look back at the original RAV4 of the 1990’s.

Ford Kuga Vs Toyota RAV4 interior: Like all the other Ford’s the Kuga follows Ford’s current high tech seemingly button filled dashboard. It does look good and we think works well with some time getting used to the numerous buttons which are primarily for the stereo system. The quality of materials and finish is definitely one of the best out there especially in top end Titanium version. The RAV4 uses the interior styling of the current range with an up right dash board arrangement which in top end models looks different yet high quality. However we are more impressed with the Kuga’s design and slightly higher overall quality.

Ford Kuga Vs Toyota RAV4 engine and technology: The Ford Kuga has all the latest safety and in car entertainment technology for just about anyone. Likewise the Ford’s petrol and diesel engine are state of the art and can go head to head with any other – except of fuel economy and fuel type which we believe is the same as the RAV4 which places reliability over fuel economy. Nothing wrong with the RAV4s diesel its self, just the much reported lower towing capacity. The RAV4 isn’t has higly specified as the Ford

Ford Kuga Vs Toyota RAV4 on road: N/A

We once again like both SUVs although the new RAV4 does disappoint because it does not take the lead in any particular category. Admittedly that’s exactly what Toyota is about. Ford has found its groove and probably needs to focus on other things like customer service, perceptions of reliability and or brand image. We preferred the Ford Kuga over the RAV4.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
