As a result we took some time out from our current MPV comparison drives to see what the differences are between the the old and new Jeep Cherokee. Clearly one of the most important models for Jeep a lot of effort has gone into the development, clearly Mercedes ownership inspired rather than Fiat ownership since it does take that long for a new model to come to market.

Here’s a quick comparison between the all new Jeep Cherokee and the old Cherokee. The old Jeep Cherokee aka Liberty was entirely forgettable, it was essentially out of touch with the competition which is a very fair and shared assessment as it sold by price alone. The all new model actually leads the pack in terms of in technology but it is definitely not perfect either. So here’s what we think about both of them at this point in time.

2015 Jeep Cherokee Vs 2014 Jeep Cherokee exterior: Easy win to the new Jeep Cherokee despite its adventurous looks. The new look front end stands out although the rest of the body looks quite conservative. The old Cherokee is very conservative and has a awkward front end.

2015 Jeep Cherokee Vs 2014 Jeep Cherokee interior: The interior design and quality of the new Cherokee is right up to date and looks good in top range spec but looses a little in base model. Regardless it is a huge leap ahead from the old model which was dated even when released.

2015 Jeep Cherokee Vs 2014 Jeep Cherokee engine and technology: Once again the new Cherokee is a huge leap from the old model. There are so many upgrades that the old one is simply very old – even when released.

The conclusion to this comparison is clear – it an easy win to the new Jeep Cherokee. Even the new model’s pricing is much more competitive as a package than the old one. After seeing so many much the same smallish SUVs the Jeep is something a little different and well worth a look. The only thing you need to consider before buying a Jeep it the less than average reliability especially with all the new electronic gadgets – regardless of model.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
