The ASX has been around for a few years and due for a mid life update due to some new competition we just mentioned!

Nissan Qashqai vs Mitsubishi ASX exterior: The new Qashqai looks great all over, its a modern design that appeals to all of us. The Mitsubishi ASX is quite ordinary and awkward, its Peugeot and Citroen sisters are much better to look at and in some spec’s almost as nice as the Qashqai.

Nissan Qashqai vs Mitsubishi ASX interior: It’s no contest that the Qashai wins the interior comparison, it looks and feels modern, familiar and the right size and great place to be in. The styling is a refinement of modern Japanese themes and has no pretensions to looking anything other ie. other overused ‘European’ description and it works and looks good if not better. The ASX is looking OK for an older design and we think its acceptable.

Nissan Qashqai vs Mitsubishi ASX engine and technology: The Qashqai has all the latest safety and entertainment tech etc are all up there with any other modern car you car think of. The ASX is obviously dated and falls behind. It’s in the engine tech in the ASX and Qashqai result in the draw as the Qashqai has a carry over engine and no AWD system in this country for now. The ASX has a diesel and AWD system and costs less. Of note both have CVT autos of dubious benefit to anything expect annoy everyone with unnecessary engine noise and a detriment to actually driving enjoyment. Essentially the CVTs we’ve driven to date had some form of ‘excessive revs’ for no real apparent reason in the wrong circumstance is simply annoying.

Nissan Qashqai vs Mitsubishi ASX drive: N/A yet.

To conclude for now, we think that the Mitsubishi has most of it right stuff and right price to be a decent small SUV only if you can live with its looks. The new Nissan Qashqai has the right balance of design and specification to be one of the most popular choices in the small SUV class. We like it and you probably will too.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
