We like the Qashqai, its pricing and packaging is competitive for a new model and even the cheapest variant looks decent which is desirable and better than any other small SUV currently on sale. The Mazda CX-5 is filled with the right stuff too but it just doesn’t look as desirable as the newest Qashqai. Yes, we think that the Qashqai is one of the best value SUVs on the market at the time of this post and it can only get better…

Nissan Qashqai vs Mazda CX-5 exterior: Both the Qashqai and CX-5 are essentially conservative designs but we have to admit the the Nissan has much more character and nicer lines. Trying to come up with different words to describe the exterior styling of the CX-5 in a ‘nice’ way is difficult for us so we’ll say the obvious the CX-5 yells poverty pack!

Nissan Qashqai vs Mazda CX-5 interior: The CX-5 interior is a nice place to be but it is not a nice as the Nissan. The quality of materials in both cars are comparable but the Qashqai design is nicer to look at and be in. The CX-5 is also about the same size as the Qashqai which means if shopping on size the Mazda is overpriced.

Nissan Qashqai vs Mazda CX-5 engine and technology: The Mazda CX-5 has all the right hardware underneath the forgettable exterior and interior design. The CX-5 also has options for the latest petrol and diesel engines and a decent gearbox it is one of the best available. However the CX-5 is missing some of the newer safety equipment on the Qashqai but the same features won’t be to far off. The Qashqai has an OK petrol engine and diesel but lacks the latest fuel saving technology the CX-5 has. The Qashqai CVT gearbox is OK but doesn’t achieve what the concept promises which is technically better fuel economy.

Nissan Qashqai vs Mazda CX-5 drive: N/A

Good looks, presentation and reasonable mechanical tech in the Qashqai Versus average looks, good interior presentation but great mechanical tech is essentially the difference between the two small SUVs. We think the price will be the deciding factor and if it was our money we’d probably pick the Nissan by a small margin.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
