Here is our latest Nissan Qashqai vs Ford Ecosport comparison. The Ford Ecosport was our former favourite small SUV. It had all the right specifications and looked \u00a0to be seemingly be a sales winner. The Qashqai is our current favourite for so many reasons so this comparison for us was highly anticipated. Read on to see what happened…<\/p>\n

Nissan Qashqai vs Ford Ecosport exterior: The Ecosport is arguably the smallest of the small SUVs on sale. However the high roof with standard roof rails makes the car bigger than it actually is. Overall details make it appear to be a shrinked version of the larger Ford Territory. The exterior built quality is also class standard hence very good. Overall is looks conservative but has enough styling to indicate that it’s from the Ford company. The Qashqai still looks good regardless of whether a base or top of the range model – something more manufacturers should do in this catergory. Easy win to the Nissan.<\/p>\n

Nissan Qashqai vs Ford Ecosport interior: We describe the comparison between the two as beauty and the beast! The Qashqai interior is a good balance of materials and good looking design although not exactly pushing any design boundaries. \u00a0The Ford Ecosport has a smaller but more youthful interior but is let down by the quality of materials and some noticeable fit issues at least in the first series. That said the materials are clearly designed to be hardwearing rather than elegant to look at or feel. Also Ford has improved the fit in all their cars that anything amiss gets noticed. If you wanted the smallest SUV in this class than the Ecosport is the only choice. However the Ford has the cheapest entry price in the small SUV class. Easy win to the Qshqai since we have to sit in it every day.<\/p>\n

Nissan Qashqai vs Ford Ecosport engine and technology: The Ford Ecosport standard engine is just OK but in top range guise has arguably the best engine in any class. It’s a very decent turbo charged sub-1 litre engine. Combined with light weight and a proper automatic or auto gearbox the Ecosport is again arguably the best mechanical package in the smallest of the small SUV class. It is again probably the most efficient model in the class. The Qashqai doesn’t push the boundaries in terms of engine tech and uses an annoying CVT but it does have much more safety tech and in car entertainment way beyond the Ecosport.<\/p>\n

Nissan Qashqai vs Ford Ecosport\u00a0drive: N\/A<\/p>\n

Like the Holden Trax (too expensive) the Ford Ecosport is a more competitive against competition like the Nissan Qashqai. Few in this country would buy the base model Ecosport manual simply due to the bad traffic you will be forced to deal with. That said if you can get a free auto in the basic Qashqai it still beats the mid range Ecosport in terms of price. That said in hind sight the only barrier to sales is the interior of the Ecosport. Better materials will mean a better first impression. If the Ford had introduced the basic manual at $18,990 or a free auto and mid range at $20,990 we feel there will be plenty more buyers as at theses price most can probably overlook its short comings. Sure there is a $5000 price difference between the two but we feel that the Qashqai is worth the higher price – just..<\/p>\n
