Arch rivals by brand and concept the Everest and Colorado only differ in predominantly more refinement and marketing spin. Both are direct wagon versions of their commercial ute variants.

The Holden Colorado Ute was overpriced of what you we getting when released. That is typical of the latest Holden released that are sourced from non-US or European models, premium pricing for a clearly non-premium model. The Colorado 7 is reasonably priced by comparison! Likewise the Ford Ranger ute is higher priced than it’s competitors but it has arguably has the nicest interior, size and interesting 5 cylinder diesel in the class to justify it’s pricing. The wagon version of the Ranger is called to Everest and is overpriced for the category, you are not getting very much more than the regular ute.

Holden Colorado 7 Vs Ford Everest exterior: There is no question that the Ford Everest has the nicer exterior sheet metal. That said the Everest design is very conservative and much like the Jeep Grand Cherokee… Unfortunately the Everest does not have the road presence of the Jeep or brand image. The Colorado 7 looks big but it’s not good a good looking car, tough looking or anything else in-between and certainly not premium. Holden have once again taken the cheap option of simply using the default Isuzu design. Overall the Colorado 7 does not have any appeal to anyone we know, not even those who want something different…

Holden Colorado 7 Vs Ford Everest interior: Both are 7 seaters but not for adults there is simply not enough space. The Ford interior is exactly the same as the Ranger. Materials are the same as the Ranger which makes it decent overall but not premium for the price, certainly not for the $77,000 top range asking price! The Colorado 7 interior is clearly the same as the Colorado ute hence a very ordinary place aka 2000’s commercial grade place to be which is unfortunate. The Everest is the winner in this part of the comparison.

Holden Colorado 7 Vs Ford Everest engines and technology: Both have the latest diesel engines with plenty of power and economy. Likewise the 4WD systems and all else related to driving. The Everest has much more safety and in car entertainment features than any Colorado 7 but you should expect that due the price difference. The short cut noise cancellation simply hides the short cuts in engineering – not something to boast about. Nonetheless the Ford has better tech overall.

Holden Colorado 7 Vs Ford Everest road test: Coming soon.

The Ford Everest has the better interior, exterior and safety features above the Holden Colorado 7 hence the Everest would technically win this comparison. That said it is a default choice as we really don’t think the Ford Everest is that much better it deserves a default win, due to the high price. In fact we call out the Ford Everest as a rip off since the car like safety features in particular do not cost that much. The Holden Colorado is a great package for the price in isolation and is let down in the critical exterior and interior design. The Colorado 7 is the cheaper SUV and that is essentially all that it’s got going for it.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
