The Suzuki Jimny is the latest 4WD (SUV) we are focusing our attention because it is a largely forgotten model in the small SUV class probably because it is in a class of its own. The Ford Ecosport was one of the first of a new class of small SUVs and also forgotten for various reasons. The Jimny stands out by begin the toughest and only genuine 4WD in the class where as the Ford is a high rise wagon version of the Ford Fiesta.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Ford Ecosport exterior comparison: We like the Ecosport’s exterior design as is sufficiently modern and looks good. it’s a design that would come to mind if you where designing a small SUV. It is also smaller in real life than the pictures suggest. The Suzuki Jimny still looks modern and everything you’d expect a small SUV and 4WD to look like. We prefer the Jimny as everything look more proportionate especially the tyre to body ratio. The Ecosport has small wheels and tyres which don’t impress.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Ford Ecosport interior comparison: The Ford interior look modern and has all the features you’d expect but presented in a 2010 way and the interior plastics while look tough are a little cheap, it’s not a bad effort for it’s age though. The Jimny’s interior is over 16 year old and honestly it’s still quite good but small. Desipte the age difference the Jimny’s interior is just as good to look at furthermore has the benefit of an interior can be modified to you liking. We prefer to be in the Ecosport only because it is bigger and has more comfortable seats, else the Jimny is just as good.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Ford Ecosport engines and technology comparison: The Ford Ecosport has many of the latest safety and entertainment features and the latest 1.0 3 cylinder turbo engine. Sure the presentation could be improved but it mostly there considering the price. The Jimny doesn’t have all the latest features in engine options or tech but it does have a real and proven 4WD system drive train. The Jimny is arguably the most reliable and durable small SUV you can buy.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Ford Ecosport drive comparison: The Jimny drives well for tiny car a little slow in performance but it has the benefit of real wheel drive and ridge axle so it’s entertaining! We don’t think its a comfortable long range SUV but it’s certainly up to the task if you want to make the journey. We have yet to try the Ecosport, at the time of this post.

If you only go on road than the Ecosport is the better choice. If you do go off road than the Jimny is the best small SUV to buy. That said if you only commute in the city than the Jimny is perfect with enough power and suspension that can handle anything and size that you can park anywhere although on the slower side.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
