The Suzuki Jimny is a great little 4Wd and arguably classed as an SUV. It’s great off road and can handle on road drives easily, the more potholed city drives you have the small Jimny will get you almost anywhere you want. The Honda HR-V is over a year old to the class and is clearly road focused with no 4WD system to speak of in this country.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Honda HR-V exterior comparison: The Honda HR-V has a modern and conservative exterior which looks nice but we don’t think it has enough unique Honda styling clues to differentiate it from other brands though. The Suzuki Jimny has unique styling thanks to never changing it from release 16 year ago and arguably classified as a retro. It looks good, very well proportioned on the road and stereotypically tough on a 4WD track.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Honda HR-V interior comparison: The HR-V is the nicer place to be in, modern and comfortable. The magic seats means that it’s bigger and more flexible on the inside than any other smallish SUV for sale at the moment. The dash is impressive for an ‘entry level’ small SUV but there other others like the CX-3 . The Suzuki Jimny has an old school interior but it is very acceptable and surprisingly comfortable at least for short distances for one or two people.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Honda HR-V engines and technology comparison: The Honda has virtually all the safety and entertainment systems as standard or as options on the market easily beating the Jimmy. There is one engine choice in the HR-V for this market and it is an existing 1.8 litre form the Civic so not particularly new. The Jimny also has only one engine option with VVT for a reasonably modern touch off all things and push button 4WD low range as opposed to the traditional gear lever.

Suzuki Jimny Vs Honda HR-V drive comparison: The Jimny drives like a smaller off roader of the 2000 era. The rear wheel drive on the road make it fun. You are unlikely to get a speeding ticket for so much fun at relatively low speeds on or off the road and the small engine is just as annoying as any SUV with a CVT gearbox as per the Honda.

In the end the Honda HR-V presents like a modern SUV and would probably suit most buyers better. Unless you has a need 4WD and a very handy small size or old school reliability than the Suzuki Jimny is a great choice.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
