Both sell on their perceived image and designs in the first instance and of course being SUVs. These are relatively small sellers in the increasingly crowded small SUV class for a number of reasons, mainly for reliability and price which PR have great difficulty covering up. We like both SUVs for being a little different from the crowd as they offer &#8216;daring&#8217; interior and exterior designs.<\/p>\n<p>MINI Countryman Vs Fiat 500X exterior comparison: Both are not small SUVs in real life more or less equalling the Qashqai.\u00a0The Fiat 500X looks like a bigger version of the 500 series which is is both retro and modern. The 500X looks great especially with the choice to use good quality paint that&#8217;s even better than the MINI. The Mini Countryman looks great too having retro clues to the standard MINI and modern interpretation of retro design including the shape of the windows and most importantly the colour range. We like the MINI Countryman design sightly better than the 500X.<\/p>\n<p>MINI Countryman Vs Fiat 500X interior comparison: Both designs are retro inspired however the Fiat 500X is less so than the regular 500 hatch and compared to the MINI Countryman. Nonetheless the 500X has decent parts but not as good as say the CX-5 or even that Sportage, but at least it looks more modern and suits the exterior design. The MINI Countryman has the same interior design as the regular MINI and looks good although not the premium quality materials or feel you should be getting in a SUV in this price range. It&#8217;s retro inspired and youthful at the same time with plenty of options to style it to your taste. The MINI Country is easily the better interior design but it comes at a huge cost.<\/p>\n<p>MINI Countryman Vs Fiat 500X engines and technology comparison: Both have the latest safety tech available but mostly optional of in the top range versions so it just depends on what package you require. However on the engine front at least in Australia the Fiat has only one engine option which is the higher powered turbo 1.4 litre which only matches wither SUVs of similar size. There is currently no &#8216;sports&#8217; or &#8216;Abarth&#8217; version of the 500X but you can assume that it will appear sooner rather than later. The MINI Countryman as expected has at least 3 engine options which are all OK although the base version can be considered underpowered. There is also a &#8216;WORKS&#8217; Countryman version for power equalling the other sports SUV the Nissan Juke but $20,000 less which makes the MINI very overpriced. We say buy a Juke and go on a very long European vacation!<\/p>\n<p>MINI Countryman Vs Fiat 500X drive comparison: N\/A<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t think there is a winner between the MINI Countryman Vs Fiat 500X comparison. We think your choice will be based on looks and brand preference and yes above their driving characteristics. Pricing for the Fiat is competitive for the equipment level with other small SUVs and does aim to please as many potential buyers as possible but the MINI Countryman is priced higher than those of similar size and specification which means you&#8217;d only want a MINI Country for the brand and design. Street cred would probably be the MINI&#8217;s strong point until you read the problems other owners likewise the Fiat 500X which is a pity for both.
