New for 2016 the Kia Sportage is currently one of best SUVs at the moment but not a favorite for a number of reasons including price. The Fiat 500X has been for sale for a little while but as our latest drive experience shows that it is a pretty good SUV.

Fiat 500X vs Kia Sportage exterior comparison: The two are opposites in a sense. The 500X is retro inspired but modernised and completely different from the sister car the Jeep Renegade! it’s a nice design relatively inoffensive but with plenty of traditional Fiat inspired styling. The Sportage while based on the Hyundai Tucson has a few design changes and just enough to differentiate the two models. The Sportage however has taken the modern Euro look which does standout compared to existing SUVs in the under $50,000 class. As a result we like both for different reasons.

Fiat 500X vs Kia Sportage interior comparison: Once again the interior styles differ, the Sportage is more Euro formal, with nice materials and generally flat finish with some metal like highlights that look good. The Fiat 500X as we said before does not feel overly high end more family friendly but overall it does look good and different from most of it competitors in the class. We would almost call the interior design fun compared the Sportage. In the end we like both for difference reasons ignoring the size difference.

Fiat 500X vs Kia Sportage engines and technology comparison: We can only judge this fairly on which one costs less for the money and the Fiat 500X is easily the winner. The 500X has a good 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine tad does match the diesel offered by the Sportage and it delivers it is a more sporty fashion aka fun. Safety systems and entertainment system is both SUVs are equal as they are optional dependent on which model you get.

Fiat 500X vs Kia Sportage drive comparison: N/A

The Fiat 500X vs Kia Sportage are good choices in the smallish SUV class. The 500X does offer brand chic but not very much admittedly while the Kia Sportage will always be viewed value of money choice at least until you see the price tag. If you like the Fiat 500X, only its reliability will make you pause for consideration as everything else is just about right. The Kia Sportage in top range trim does look and feel classy but it comes at a price, the models in the lower end of the range are expensive but at least the nicer interior softens the financial blow. In the end we’d pick the Fiat 500X because of it’s fair purchase price and some character.

//
google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
