Continuing on with our series of the comparisons featuring the Suzuki Vitara and its competitors this time we revisited the Renault Captur which is in the same class. It’s interesting how our impressions of the Vitara and the Captur change over the course of checking out the competition and each new review… The Renault Captur is the forgotten SUV purely due to being a Renault which for many people is a not ‘Toyota’ or even a “Suzuki’ which is a pity that brand image means so much in 2016. It’s also strange that most do not realise that it shares parts with Nissan so can’t be that bad.

Renault Captur Vs Suzuki Vitara exterior comparison: The Captur is a good looking SUV and it shows what can only be described as stereotypically French flair but let’s be realistic and point out that other car manufacturers from other countries have designs that look just as good. That said the design its self is still on the conservative side but it is the colour scheme that make it stand out and there are numerous styling packs for the exterior. Both look bigger than the are. The Vitara is a good looking small SUV too but its best described as contempory and definitely conservative. We prefer the look of the Captur as it looks more upmarket than the Vitara.

Renault Captur Vs Suzuki Vitara interior comparison: The Captur interior is nice but lots of dark and hard and softish plastics but good quality and a little better than the Vitara. It’s not just about the various shapes being used but practical things like moving seats in the front and back, surprising features like the very good looking seat covers, engine sound track options and even styling packs! The Vitara interior is very conventional but it is decent too. The Captur has the better interior overall.

Renault Captur Vs Suzuki Vitara engine and technology comparison: In terms of engines, the Vitara quite easily better but the Captur makes up ground by having a lot of standard features that would make daily life easier, as mentioned previously. There are also a lot more options hence the lower entry price, options like better stereo, paint scheme and decals, floor mats and all at reasonable prices. Both do not have the latest safety features like auto brakes blind spot monitors and so forth but it is still 2016 and we don’t expect those of of systems as standard just yet, maybe by 2018.

Renault Captur Vs Suzuki Vitara drive comparison: We like the way the Vitara drives – 1.4 turbo being the best choice. Have not driven the Renault Captur yet.

Both are very much in the same class in terms of size and pricing and it is the Captur that standouts by being the most featured for daily driver duties for the price. The Renault has lots of styling options and features that you should get like very useful the seat covers that son’ look like covers including a leather option! They are expensive by themselves but I’m sure they would be thrown in as part of a ‘drive away’ deal. The Suzuki Vitara although has some great design features isn’t quite a impressive as the Renault in physical terms but it is strangely appealing for it’s traditional Volvoness. In the specification and showroom comparison the Renault Captur is the better SUV the only thing holding it back is brand perception and reliability. Apart from that only a drive in both will determine which SUV is better for you.

// google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
