We actually like the new Renault Koleos as an overall package definitely worth considering if shopping for a new small-medium sized SUV. The Mitsubishi Outlander in its current design is nearly 2 year old and quite a departure from the original release, which we considered one of the best medium sized SUVs due to competitive pricing and feature pack.

Renault Koleos Vs Mitsubishi Outlander exterior design comparison: The Koleos has the latest Euro design themes and it does look good, definitely more premium than it’s base price suggests. The Outlander is modern design but not lead edge but looks decent enough on the road and more to the point includes decent alloy wheels on every model. These are not small SUVs anymore and definitely in the medium sized class.

Renault Koleos Vs Mitsubishi Outlander interior comparison: The interior of both are descent places to be however we feel that the Outlander has the more consistent design and materials overall yet for drivers the Koloes is the more premium place to be and nicer interior lighting. It’s honestly equal overall but the little touches in the Koleos especially dashboard and interior lighting make it a little better than the Outlander. We aren’t fooled by bits of shiny metal trim although acknowledge them, we usually more impressed by overall materials and ambience and in this regard feel that both are pretty much equal.

Renault Koleos Vs Mitsubishi Outlander engine and technology: The safety and tech in both models are equal both having the same systems but arguably the Koleos has a branded BOSE stereo where as the Outlander does not The single engine and CVT in the Koleos is clearly adequate but more options on the Outlander from diesels and petrol including the unique PHEV version in the SUV class. It’s very much equal in all spec areas.

Renault Koleos Vs Mitsubishi Outlander on road: N/A

The winner of the comparison between the Renault Koleos Vs Mitsubishi Outlander is the Koleos is a draw. There is no reason to chose either model over in the specification sense it’s all personal preference look and feel, personal priorities and brand. Neither can be described as the ultimate SUV available and more described as ultimately inoffensive in 2017. We have no preference over which one we would buy but pushed we’d choose the Outlander due to more safety and the availability of the PHEV version.

// google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
