We liked the Tucson for it’s styling and overall quality when released, hence it is one of the first models we thought of comparing against the all new Tiguan released this year. In our comparisons so far the Tiguan has failed on the style front and packaging for the price but it did impress us for being the first new small-medium sized SUV model with safety systems due to be standard on its competitors during this year.

VW Tiguan Vs Hyundai Tucson exterior design comparison: The new Tiguan doesn’t impress on styling looking like any other existing model from the last 4 years. It definitely does not have road presence you’d demand from paying that much money. That said it has been designed with VW default styling themes which is quite brave in 2017. The Tucson when released was one of the best looking SUVs on the market, sporty yet conservative enough not to offend. More to the point the looks matched it’s pricing.

VW Tiguan Vs Hyundai Tucson interior comparison: The Tucson’s interior is a nice place to be and to some extent matches the exterior styling but when you compare it’s twin the Kia Sportage it doesn’t quite meet the higher standard set by the Kia. The Tucson compared to the Tiguan is interesting. The Tiguan interior is a nice place to be if you option it up or simply buy the top range model and again option it up despite being a top of the range model which is a bit of a rip off tactic. Argubly yes the Tiguan interior is better than Tucson but it is worth that much more around the $55,000? Likewise the Tucson Highlander range topper doesn’t feels like $50,000 in isolation or next to the Tiguan. We think Hyundai is believing it’s own advertising the reality is that it is not premium enough to justify the elevated pricing. That all said the more popular entry and mid range Tucson and Tiguan are decent in both models but the Hyundai is definitely on the cheaper but decent side of things. We think you can do better.

VW Tiguan Vs Hyundai Tucson engine and technology: The technology and engine technology winner on all levels is the Tiguan. It has more safety and engine options despite the rip-off turbo tweaking con job. That said can you trust a VW that all that tech isn’t all that advanced since they can’t even make a emissions capable engine where as most other manufacturers can? Likewise a DSG gearbox that feels as bad as motorised manual every so often? On the other hand the Hyundai Tucson has last generation safety and engines which means it will be reliable and meet you expectations. In many ways the Tucson seems underdone and overpriced in this department,

VW Tiguan Vs Hyundai Tucson on road: N/A

The winner of the VW Tiguan Vs Hyundai Tucson comparison is the Tiguan. The Tucson is a good looking and well equipped smallish SUV, unfortunately there are other good looking and better equipped smallish SUVs. Up against the Tiguan the Tucson’s looks good but still overpriced due to low equipment levels especially safety. The Tiguan is the better equipped just more expensive SUV but doesn’t appeal visually inside or out in standard trim but it has lots of essential safety features and engine power that you need in 2017.

// google_ad_client = "ca-pub-2027171236681273";
