The Suzuki Ignis is beginning to endear it&#8217;s self to us and inspired us to get a test drive soon. The Ford Ecosport has not sparked our interest despite being on sale for a 2 years, due mainly to it&#8217;s design choices including the engine and transmission specification but it&#8217;s price is appealing if you can get a deal.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki Ignis vs Ford Ecosport exterior comparison: The Ecosport uses the edgy design language used by other Ford models and it does look good is a conservative fashion, the only flaw to the design is the small wheels and tyres on the proportionately larger body. The Suzuki Ignis on the other hand looks proportional in every way with it&#8217;s seemingly awkward angles that are understood as distinctly retro design touches. The Ignis does look better overall.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki Ignis Vs Ford Ecosport interior comparison: Both have hard plastic interiors but the Ignis is designed from the start with that in mind whereas the Ecosport was not. As a result the Ignis leaves a better impression and feels good when you&#8217;re sitting inside. Whenever we&#8217;re in an Ecosport we always things of how it could be so much better, that said we like the all button approach to the design. Apart form the borrowed Fiesta dashboard the design is quite normal with no other standouts. The Ignis has the better interior design it is has everything presented in a easy to use unpretentious way. Strangly we didn&#8217;t get out of the Ignis and though it could be so much better because it is what it is. It is minimal in the way the other manufacturers try to do but fail.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki Ignis Vs Ford Ecosport engines and technology comparison: The Ford Ecosport has all the basic safety tech as per the Ignis and the only thing we noticed different was that the Ecosport has parking scissors without a camera whereas the Ignis has a camera but missing parking sensors. I terms of engines the Ecosport has a very ordinary 1.5 litre petrol as the norm that produces the less power as a Toyota Yaris for sample and weights 400kg more! The 1.0 Ecosport engine is much better option but again blunted by the extra 400kg. In comparison the Igins weighs it at a mere 865 for the top range model although produces less power than a Ecosport but that low kerb weight means it more lively and faster! Of course that changes when you have the manual transmission only 1.0 Ecoboost turbo engine which gives it the performance of the Ignis. The Igins also has the better performance and the complete in car entertainment system hence overall the better SUV at least in this comparison.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki Ignis Vs Ford Ecosport drive comparison: N\/A<\/p>\n<p>The winner of the\u00a0Suzuki Ignis Vs Ford Ecosport comparison is the Ignis. The Ecosport has a flawed interior and most importantly the lack of a more powerful Ecosport engine with an automatic transmission. In this country autos are the norm and demanded due to heavy traffic and further more the Ecosport on road price is high. The Suzuki Ignis is a great package for a great price. Any technical spec or showroom comparison will always result in a win for the Ignis. The only issue will be convincing buyers that the small engine and light weight means better performance, the traditional sports car ethos. Note that the comparable base Yaris has a 1.3 with only 63Kw but weighs 200kg more!
