All new for 2018 Mercedes Benz X Class we compare it to the popular Ford Ranger comparison. It’s still early days for the X-Class but initial impression are often hard to forget. The Ford Ranger has been around for a few years now and hasn’t been updated in any significant way. Sure it has a few reliability problems but it’s not a complete hidden so you know what you’re buying. The Mercedes Benz X-Class has a good starting base in the form of the Navara but although it looks similar it is actually bigger.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Vs Ford Ranger exterior comparison: Both have different styling with the Ranger being shared off much like the previous generation of the Nissan Navara. The Ranger does not look like the F series trucks no matter how much you can imagine. On the other hand the X-Class still looks like the current generation Navara with a different front end and if you hadn’t seen a Navara close up you wouldn’t know that the X-Class is wider. We like the look of both and wouldn’t mind either in the driveway.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Vs Ford Ranger interior comparison: The X-Class is easily better than the Ranger on the inside. Sure the X-Class plastics are not up to the same level as the A-Class range it’s not a chasm far off. The lower end models get an all hard plastic interior be you don’t really notice it the texture appears more high end. The Ranger interior has always been one off the best in the Ute class but it is a little ordinary apart from the digital dash and softer materials.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Vs Ford Ranger street engine and technology comparison: We all know about the 5 cylinder turbo diesel in the Ranger that’s shared with various models with Ford and Mazda. It has known characteristics and problems which makes it a good choice as there’s nothing worse than not knowing what could possibly break. Likewise the X-Class has all of Navara’s history. In terms of other tech the X-Class has the best system but there is little else to differentiate between either as a real tech feature.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Vs Ford Ranger drive comparison: Both are commercial vehicles and not sporty to drive the Ranger is a literal barge and difficult to drive or park and the X-Class is no different. Both a heavy weights with lessor brakes and a unsettled ride means more attention required to drive.

Mercedes-Benz X-Class Vs Ford Ranger street cred comparison: Both are the most expensive utes currently on sale in Australia and that figures in the street cred value. Most Ranger’s are high riders which means they missing 4WD system yet cost more but the rationale is that it a bigger ute. Since Mercedes Benz’s are expensive it also follows that the Ute version is as well but surprisingly they aren’t really in comparison to the Ford Ranger. Few know about the X-Class so the Ranger has the better street cred.

The winner of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class Vs Ford Ranger comparison is the neither. All things considered both are overpriced despite the decent interior in the X-Class having the best top range fittings. However in the end it its the Ranger Wildtrack that is a way the most overpriced for what you get compared to the X-Class and indeed the mid-range Ford Ranger. We think it’s a street cred and branding choice rather than anything else, which one are you? We think both are a waste and there are much better value alternatives especially if you want 4WD system.

<td style="text-align: left;
