Welcome to the all new MG ZS Vs Hyundai Kona comparison for 2019. The Kona is a good looking small SUV one of nicest although does age quickly thanks to the over use of plastic cladding. There are lots of competition in the smallish SUV class, the Qashqai, Toyota CH-R in terms of looks so the comparison with the MG ZS the cheapest small SUV except for the Suzuki Ignis is going to be interesting..<\/p>\n

MG ZS Vs Hyundai Kona exterior comparison: The Kona looks great on the outside but perhaps a little too modern of the mass market. The high-rise hatchback design is nice but most do not want a clearly high rise exisiting hatchback look aka clearly a modified i30 model. The design has elements of Audi and Jeep but clearly more refined designs. The MG ZS is also clearly a derivative exterior design using as many elements form other manufacturers as possible, CX-5 Qashqai come to mind straightaway. The Kona exterior is a much nicer and less derivative design than the MG ZS.<\/p>\n

The Kona is cheap place to be in regardless of model grade compared to it’s competitors and even the MG. Sure the Kona’s interior would be acceptable in a genuine 4WD but this it is not close to where Hyundai are marketing this model. We suspect there where many sales lost due to this. It is quite insulting to any buyer.<\/p>\n

The DSG is a bit of a flaw but it’s not marketed as a feature so don’t be surprised if you encounter problems with it – based on past and present DSG gearbox history. All Kona’s has emergency auto brakes. In comparison the MG ZS has a adequate engine but poor safety systems.<\/p>\n

Note the MG ZS is now a Chinese brand and subject to price reductions without warning and the according to the latest news, is that you can buy on for $22,990… That said we wouldn’t buy either or would we if the MG ZS was cheap enough?<\/p>\n
