Both are not complete new models but variants equipped with manufacturer branded components that have been tuned and tested to meet their brand’s marketing. We think the move is a great idea as many purchasers already customise them within 12 months of owing them.

Toyota Hilux Rugged and Rogue Editions Vs Ford Ranger Raptor exterior comparison: The Ranger Raptor has an understated looks because we’ve seen the same sort of mods done by owners. Nonetheless the Raptor looks good but honestly some design flair that make the Raptor version stand out from other Ranger’s beyond stickers would be nice, especially since we confused it with the entry level Ranger. The Rugged and Rogue versions of the Hilux are good looking and very outback and travel ready parts. Unlike the Raptor there are 3 variants the Toyota Hilux Rugged, Rugged X and the Rogue which also acts the the top spec Hilux’s but with more customised exterior changes. Like the Raptor we’ve seen all the mods before but unlike the Raptor, not in one hit. The Rugged and Rogue modifications make the Hilux stand out from the rest of the range. We like both exteriors designs for different reasons.

Toyota Hilux Rugged and Rogue Editions Vs Ford Ranger Raptor interior comparison:The Ford ranger Raptor scores a slightly different interior design such as the analogue dash and highlight stitching in comparison to the Hilux Rugged and Rogue with some different graphics in the dashboard screen but little else. It is interesting that the Rugged X and the Rogue model grades have electric seats and leather as standard which contradicts their branding as off road focused trucks. We like the bold Hilux interior but it is smaller than the Ranger Raptor which mostly look more upmarket but is that the point of these models to justify their almost unreasonable high price tag?

Toyota Hilux Rugged and Rogue Editions Vs Ford Ranger Raptor engines and technology comparison: The Ranger Raptor comes with the latest 2.0 twin turbo engine producing some of the best power figures for the class and it is available as an option to regular Rangers. The 10 speed auto and the bespoke suspension with approach angles and clearence that’s best in the class but due purely to the huge tyre and wheel combination! The Hilux Rugged and Rogue versions do not have and engine upgrades from the regular 2.8 litre turbo diesel, full suite of 4WD systems and even firmer suspension

Toyota Hilux Rugged and Rogue Editions Vs Ford Ranger Raptor drive and street cred: The summary of this is simple The Ford ranger Raptor in its current form needs more power to be worthy of the Raptor branding and Ford Fans. The Toyota Hilux Rugged and Rogue are Hilux’s with accessory kits will be viewed as just another nice Hilux.

The winner Toyota Hilux Rugged and Rogue Editions Vs Ford Ranger Raptor comparison winner is a tie. The Hilux Rogue is the top of the range Hilux. It replaces the SR5 version as top the the tree variant but honestly the blacked out parts and electric seat combo as standard are the only changes and is not worth the price difference. The Hilux Rugged version has the most changes with bull bar, side protection and snorkel and others but based on the mid range so missing some ‘luxury’ but it’s everything a person wanting an off road ready ute would want. The Hilux Rugged with more off road bits is arguably the pick of the models to get. The Raptor may be faster and has bespoke suspension but it’s $20,000 more than the Hilux Rugged. However to be realistic the Ranger Raptor is not worth the $15,000 difference to the Hilux unless you want a more powerful engine as standard. The Hilux already has aftermarket kits to give it the engine boost

<td style="text-align: left;
