Here is some information we found out about the various new brands that been released to the Australian market in the last year or two. Information is as factual as we could find since the source material, due to the language barrier and the problem of getting real feedback from the country of origin. This week it is all about the Jaecoo brand aka a Chery sub-brand.
Jaecoo : No brand image but say they sell luxury at affordable prices but in reality their prices are almost affordable.
Jaecoo SUV designs are derivative or copies of other current SUVs by any number of manufacturers especially Range Rover and Mitsubishi. The rotating doors of designers reinforce the perception of the lack of creativity.
Jaecoo interiors nice but generic and a little ‘thin’ that could come from any number of brands including Chinese brands
Jaecoo is a sub brand of the much larger Chery group and are Government owned.
Jaecoo needs to sell on cheaper prices than the competitors.
Jaecoo are equipped with under-par engines and transmissions which are a real problems.
Jaecoo marketing is higher end than the product itself.
Jaecoo as a brand needs more work and we would try a model from BYD or MG before considering this one. That said the parent Chery brand has some clout.
