It has been a decade since the last model was released and the in between sized Qashqai was a very popular model due not only to packaging but pricing and looks. However over time there have been plenty of competitors being released in this segment. So how does the new model Nissan Qashqai compare to the old one?

2024 Nissan Qashqai Vs old 2023 Nissan Qashqai exterior comparison: The old Qashqai was a stylish looking smallish SUV when released and the design has stood the test of time. It still looks like a current model to be honest. The new Qashqai is clearly an evolution of the model but it is more conventional is terms of styling elements aka uses styling trends already seen in other SUVs. Yes it is a contemporary design but does not stand out as it once did. More on the reasons for similarity in forth coming comparisons on the Qashqai.

2024 Nissan Qashqai Vs old 2023 Nissan Qashqai interior comparison: The interior of the old Qashqai is pretty good even in 2023. Yes it does and feel a little older but it’s still a good place to be in dependent on model grade of course. In comparison the new Qashqai interior is newer but looks just like any other new SUV interior. It is not surprising since Nissan and Mitsubishi and other French brands are in the same group everything seems and is familiar.

2024 Nissan Qashqai Vs old 2023 Nissan Qashqai engine and technology comparison: The old Qashqai had the modern but older 2 litre petrol for most of it’s model run. Decent power but hampered by the CVT. The new Qashqai has the predicted 1.3 litre turbo that makes the same sort of power but hampered by noticeably extra weight and CVT. It also needs more expensive 95 Octane unleaded petrol. Safety tech is dependent on model grade and likewise stereo system and gadgets.

The conclusion and winner of the 2024 Nissan Qashqai Vs old 2023 Nissan Qashqai comparison is a draw. While the new Qashqai has completely up to date tech is missing hybrid or genuine fuel saving tech. Furthermore it’s gone up in price, less individual design inside and out and so forth. Maybe a less costly update of the old model would have been the better decision? That said every manufacturer is upping prices. In comparison the old Qashqai is just that, the older version but acceptable

Nissan Qashqai

Nissan Qashqai

Engines

4 Cylinder Petrol (95 Octane)
DOHC EFI VVT Turbo
1.3 Litre (1332cc)
Claimed 110Kw @ 5500RPM
Claimed 250Nm @ 1600RPM

4 Cylinder Petrol
DOHC EFI
2.0 Litre (1999cc)
Claimed 106Kw @ 6000RPM
Claimed 200Nm @ 4400RPM

Weight

Kerb weight FROM 1452 Kg
Towing capacity up to 1500kg

Kerb weight FROM 1343Kg
Towing capacity up to 1200kg

Fuel capacity &
