Welcome to the 200 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs 300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser comparison 2021. Whenever there is a Land Cruiser release it is well covered by the press and fans alike. \u00a0We don’t usually post a comparison until we’ve been able to get a physical or drive but showroom is the closest we got due to the on going restrictions, nonetheless came away with some interesting conclusions. Nonetheless how does the older 200 series compare to the brand new 300 series after all you might just be able to buy a run out 200 series as they can’t seem to make the 300 until 2022.<\/p>\n

200 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs 300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser exterior: The Land Cruiser has various ‘classic’ designs over the years but this is not one of them. The new design is an evolution of the 200 series, in turn used for the last 30 years. It is a conservative design and is not challenging to look at. That said we do prefer the older design as it clearly identified as a Land Cruiser where as the new 300 series silhouette looks just like any other including it’s arch rival the Nissan Patrol.<\/p>\n

In that regard the 200 series interior is a nice place to be in and we’ve been in a few over the years. It does get better the nigher the model grade which is expected. The new 300 series interior has a more modern design resembling Lexus but downgraded due to the range of customers the 300 series has to cater for. To be\u00a0completely honest while looks and feel good the top range models but don’t reflect the quality you’d expect for a vehicle in the price range – after all for the price you’d expect a little better but then again – it’s not a luxury 4WD except in perception.<\/p>\n

However along with the high-tech traction control systems for off and on road there are the latest safety systems there is also the much frowned upon ladder frame and solid rear axle. The KDSS which is a mechanical system a standout. Of course those who frown upon such traditional tech are those in the mainstream that are not into driving off road, towing or anything vaguely adventurous or probably competitors who don’t know how to develop such technology?<\/p>\n

The Land Cruiser has a world wide aura as an off road and no doubt the 300 series will continue that legend. After all Toyota would be in serious trouble if it did not live up to expectations. A one off of review is not going be able to assess whether it be from us or another website. The Land Cruiser’s reputation unlike most brands are based on long term ownership and pin point market positioning. Is the Land Cruiser more that the sum of it’s parts or it is a modern interpretation of character? \u00a0Regardless, either one is worth the purchase if you afford it or need it.<\/p>\n
