300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Series 70 Toyota Land Cruiser exterior: The 70 Series, presently called the 76 series has been around for decades and was the basis that eventually resulted in the new 300 series of 2021. The 70 series has been upgraded over the years but the design is basically the same as the original 70 series form the 80’s. It may be 30 years old and looks it but it does give it character. In comparison the 300 series is a new design but it’s so derivative and conservative from the 200 series we can’t say anything good or bad.<\/p>\n

It is not that big but the seats and everything else has less padding or girth that makes the interior feel bigger than it is. While the design was updated in the 2000’s and it feels commercial grade but designed in the 80’s. In fact the sliders and switches look and feel like the same ones in Toyota’s in the 80’s. The 300 series Land Cruiser is completely opposite – modern, luxurious and futuristic compared the to 70 series.<\/p>\n

It’s doesn’t have amazing power output and designed for traditional diesel engine characteristics but it has the longevity and plenty of power for it’s target market. The missing safety systems in the 70 series are mostly missing as it’s a rugged vehicle for surviving it’s entire life off road, farming or mining not city or suburban commutes. It is only available in a 5speed manual gearbox. In comparison the 300 Series is completely modern which plenty of power and torque, off and on road traction and safety systems etc…<\/p>\n

The conclusion to the 300 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Vs Series 70 Toyota Land Cruiser is the Land Cruiser. Very different vehicles as expected. The common thing is the Land Cruiser branding which represents off road capability and durability which both have. However we know the 70 series will outlast the 300 series and any competitors – not that it has any. In terms of pricing the 300 series is expensive for what it is likewise the 70 series however it is cheap for what is essentially a vehicle that will outlast the owner with only basic maintenance.<\/p>\n
