This is our Honda HR-V Vs Jeep Compass comparison for 2022. The Honda HR-V now crosses price ranges with the recently updated Jeep Compass. The HR-V is so far a little disappointing for an all new model for the price, performance and styling. In comparison the Jeep Compass is a decent effort by the company and has ‘grown up’ or rather gone up in price. As a result of this upgrade is the Jeep Compass better than the Honda HR-V?<\/p>\n

Honda HR-V Vs Jeep Compass exterior comparison: The Jeep Compass is ultimately a conservative design that melds into the rest of the Jeep range. Based on the Jeep designs over the last 25 years it is clear that modern contemporary designs don’t sell when branded as a Jeep. You say the the Cherokee looks different but we say it’s only the front end design that lead the rest of the world. As a result Jeep redesigned the Compass into a mini-version of the Grand Cherokee. In comparison the Honda HR-V design is quite dated and probably one of the reasons why it probably won’t reach the top ten.<\/p>\n

Honda HR-V Vs Jeep Compass interior comparison: We like the interior of the HR-V as it is different from all the other SUV designs, While it is ‘simple’ it also suggests that it could belong to a electric SUV rather then petrol or hybrid. The updated Jeep Compass interior overhaul is a very familiar design but looks and feels more upmarket. There are various trim options which will draw in many new buyers. Unfortunately the price as gone up quite significantly to reflect that.<\/p>\n

Honda HR-V Vs Jeep Compass engines and tech comparison: The HR-V wins the engine comparison as it does have the hybrid option however the entry level 1.5 cylinder is underpowered – by a lot. Safety systems in the HRV are class standard so nothing to report. In comparison the Compass has old tech petrol and turbo diesel options. Both available engines have decent power and performance. The stereo system in the Jeep Compass is noticeably better than the HR-V and since both are hard to replace you really need to get a decent out of the box model grade or torture your ears. The Compass has the unique selling point in the entire class of small SUVs by having a real 4WD system as an option.<\/p>\n

The conclusion and winner of the Honda HR-V Vs Jeep Compass is the Jeep Compass. We where surprised that we would buy the Compass ahead of the HRV or more to the point think that the Compass has a unique selling point that that will appeal to many. The ‘point’ is the package of a real off road capable 4Wd system and it’s interior and exterior that match it’s pricing. So you want a right sized SUV and don’t feel ripped off but will settle with the dated petrol or turbo diesel engines. Jeep is a fading brand in Australia due to it’s historic reliability problems so if to want to take a chance the Compass is a great choice.<\/p>\n
