This is the new Hyundai Kona Vs Nissan Leaf comparison for 2024. The Kona was a step in the right direction for Hyundai in making an SUV style electric vehicle based on a design that also had a petrol engine as it’s base. Although it drove well for a high riser we never seriously considered it due to high price and less than acceptable interior for the price. On the other hand the Nissan Leaf was always well priced for an all electric car and featured for an electric even by 2024 standards although its presentation also let it down. So how to they compare?<\/p>\n

Hyundai Kona Vs Nissan Leaf exterior comparison: The basic Nissan Leaf design is quite ordinary for 2024 but i was\u00a0 released 7 years ago. The recent spec update certainly gives it an edgier look. The Kona is an ‘all new’ model but it doesn’t look it as it is very similar to the last model. The on trend horizontal front an rear lighting is nice but since everyone does it now it the brand does become lost. The horizontal rear light stripe doesn’t seem to quite align on many examples on the road so make sure you check if you buy one. In the end the me too styling on the Kona is lost in the sea of clone and the Leaf stand out by being a little different.<\/p>\n

Hyundai Kona Vs Nissan Leaf interior comparison: The Kona has finally received the interior upgrade it needed. The original interior was very entry level place to be in. The new interior is much better place, with the digital dash panel consistent through out the Hyundai range and used by any number of bands. So take the badge off the wheel and you could be driving any brand. The interior of the Nissan looks like it came from any other budget friendly petrol power car in the last 20 years which is the problem. It looks and feel old especially with the smaller screens.<\/p>\n

Hyundai Kona Vs Nissan Leaf engine and technology comparison: To be honest both are pretty much the same package in different bodies including subscription packages after 5 years. The twin displays in the Kona is a tech selling point but the all too common exterior design is the non tech factor that doesn’t quite overcome the two bigger screens. It’s quite odd.<\/p>\n

The conclusion and winner of the Hyundai Kona Vs Nissan Leaf comparison is the Leaf. The Nissan Leaf offers the same package in a older style interior and exterior package and it’s cheaper. The Kona is also a decent electric car in a nigh rise hatchback form but we hesitate to call an SUV.\u00a0 It only now has a interior it needed but at a price but with the bigger battery that gives more range, we guess justifies the price difference in base model trim. However is the $5000 price difference for approximately 100km range extra when the range is already a decent 270km ?<\/p>\n
