The Nissan Juke has another competitor in the class in terms of looks and size. Yes, we think the LBX is one of the more stylish looking small SUVs along with the stand out looks of the Nissan Juke. So aside from looks how do they compare?

Lexus LBX Vs Nissan Juke exterior: The LDX is a nice looking contemporary small SUV overall. It does follow the Lexus design language of looking like and upmarket model yet not going to far to make it stand out. The lack of chrome may appeal to the Gen Y and Millienals who seem to like black out things. In comparison the Juke has more modern and deliberately different lines. However in the end we prefer the Juke’s looks as it has a sporty stance with huge wheels, front end, high waist line and stylish line sides and back. It is a cohesive design that won’t be missed in the car park of small SUVs.

Lexus LBX Vs Nissan Juke interior: The LBX has nice interior that fits the Lexus design language for their SUV range. Yes it looks and feels upmarket beyond the surface. In comparison the Juke interior is pretty good too. It is a contrast having lots of buttons and text things to read and contrasting curve feature panels for the sake of it makes it stylish no question. It does have a Mercedes Benz inspiration but not quite the same high level of materials.

Lexus LBX Vs Nissan Juke engine and technology: The most telling difference between the two models is the engines. The LBX has a Hybrid whilst the Juke a small capacity turbo. It is common knowledge that the Toyota hybrid engines follow the brand’s ethos of reliability, economy, providing sufficient power and in the LBX cases more refinement. The Juke also represents Nissan’s odd state of flux with all the right parts but under par execution. We won’t hammer slam the coffin but needless to say this version of the Juke is ruined by the underwhelming engine and DSG transmission package.

The winner of the Lexus LBX Vs Nissan Juke comparison is the neither. The Nissan Juke would be a great small SUV in a manual but few buy them like that any more as a result the DSG automatic has issues that a great interior and exterior cannot fix. Furthermore the Juke gets pretty close to the LBX in terms of looks inside and out. So ignore the automatic and get the manual transmission top range Juke, it is definitely worth the saving of over $10000. Else the safe and overlly nice LBX is the SUV to buy if you have the cash.

Lexus LBX

Nissan Juke

Engines

3 Cylinder Petrol
1.5 Litre (1490cc) 91 Octane
Hybrid DOHC VVT EFI
Claimed 85Kw @ 5500RPM Combined
Claimed 120Nm @ 3800RPM

3 Cylinder Petrol 95 Octane
1 Litre (998cc)
DOHC VTEC EFI
Claimed 84Kw @ 2400 RPM
Claimed 180Nm @ 5250 RPM

Weight

From &
