The Chery Tiggo 4 Pro is like the old Hyundai Excel model release decades ago as a competitor to the established brands. However unlike Hyundai comparison there is a more to Chery’s ambitions than mere automotive dominance. Yes it’s one of those companies that is owned by a foreign government that seeks global product domination, but is it any good and is it better than the Hyundai Venue for the money?

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Hyundai Venue exterior comparison: They look very similar to be honest. However the more you look at the Tiggo 4 you’ll also see echos of the Venue. Both are nice designs and clearly the generic shape for small SUVs. However the base model Venue looks too basic in comparison to the unchanged Tiggo 4 Pro.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Hyundai Venue interior comparison: The Tiggo4 Pro clearly has a modern interior with the 2025 class standards, equipped with dual tablet screens and panel like centre console. The interior materials a good for the price point but overall a little ‘thin’. In comparison the Hyundai Venue interior look and feel more durable but clearly has the older styling and equally ‘thin’. Despite the Venue having a meauably smaller passenger space it is still fine for normal size people and certainly not that smaller compared to the Tiggo 4 Pro.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Hyundai Venue engine and technology comparison: No hybrids as options just yet – in the marketed ‘cheapest SUV class’ but small 1.6 non turbo in the Venue and a small 1.5 turbo in the Tiggo 4 Pro. The Tiggo 4 Pro has a small turbo attached to the small 1.5 engine for a nice little power boost clearly to make up for the ancient 1.5 base. There are plenty of gadgets in the Tiggo 4 Pro but only the basics in the Venue. What equipment is included and what is not is heavily dependent on what the latest marketing offer. No fancy tech in either car as far as we could tell but you get more controls via the screen in the Tiggo 4.

The conclusion and winner of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Vs Hyundai Venue comparison is the Tiggo 4 Pro. It’s a technical win for the Tiggo because the factors of quality, durability and the political and economic of buying this over something else is not known yet and is largely unimportant in buying the cheapest SUV on sale. It’s a mental thing – and the Tiggo has lots of gadgets for a relatively cheap price. Will the Tiggo 4 Pro fall apart like the MG3 over time – who knows? For the moment it is cheaper than the Hyundai Venue for the spec and certainly a little bigger. So if you can’t see anything else but the relatively ‘cheapest’ price tag why not give it a go. Unfortunately you will known what everyone else thinks.

Chery Tiggo 4 Pro

Hyundai Venue

Engines

4 Cylinder Petrol Turbo
1.5 Litre (1498cc)
DOHC EFI
Claimed 108Kw @ 5500RPM
Claimed 210Nm @ 1750RPM

4 Cylinder Petrol 91 Octane
1.6 Litre (1591cc)
DOHC EFI
Claimed 90Kw @ 6300RPM
Claimed 151Nm @ 4850RPM

Weight

Kerb weight FROM 1388Kg
Towing capacity up to N/A kg

Kerb weight FROM 1200 Kg
Towing capacity up to 1100kg

Fuel capacity &
